Volvo CE stops all sales to Russia: "Crisis meetings every day"

Volvo CE's plant in Eskilstuna has 2,000 employees, who develop construction machinery and manufacture components.

According to Anne Bast, Russia is a large and important market for the company.

Volvo CE has a dealer in the country.

It has now stopped all sales.

The stop also applies to sales in Ukraine and Belarus.

For the entire Volvo Group, Russia and Ukraine account for 3.5 percent of the Group's sales.

- Russia is an important market for us, but the situation is very serious.

We follow all sanctions and will adapt accordingly, says Anne Bast.

Stops production

SSAB has also stopped all sales to Russia and Belarus.

Sales to Russia have corresponded to around 1 percent of the company's total sales.

The steelmaker has a plant in Ukraine, with about 80 employees that has been completely shut down.

Sales in Ukraine account for less than 1 percent.

- Our focus now is on helping our employees, says Viktoria Karsberg, communications manager at SSAB.
