Villa completely burnt down outside Luleå - the police are investigating if anyone was in the building

The alarm came in at 03 o'clock after a passing motorist on the E4 saw strong flames erupt from the building.

Several forces from the rescue service pulled out but the villa was overheated and could not be saved.

- There was not much to do more than let the villa burn down under controlled conditions, says SOS alarm to SVT.

The place will be blocked off

By 06:00, several rescue units had returned, but a water truck remains for surveillance.

The police have also been at the fire scene and are working full time to try to get in touch with the people who are registered at the address.

- When the rescue service has finished its work, the property will be cordoned off for a technical investigation.

We do this to rule out that someone is left in the fire remains, says Fredrik Nilsson, duty officer at the police command center (RLC).

A report of general negligence has been made.
