On Europe Matin on Tuesday, the President of the Senate, Gérard Larcher returned to the war in Ukraine, which is shaking up the presidential campaign in France.

He felt that the answer to be given today is that of unity. 

In Ukraine, Russian troops continue to skate forward as the Ukrainian army struggles.

Invited on Europe Matin on Tuesday, the President of the Senate, Gérard Larcher, returned to the situation in Ukraine and to the support of the European Union in the midst of the presidential campaign in France.

He felt that there was no question of "putting democracy on hold" and felt that there was a "scripting" of the crisis by Emmanuel Macron. 

"We have witnessed a scenario of the crisis on the part of the President of the Republic. But I think that today, faced with this crisis, the response is unity."
