The trial of the November 13 attacks finally resumed on Tuesday before the special assize court in Paris.

The debates were interrupted on February 15, after the Coronavirus contamination of two defendants, the Belgian-Moroccan Mohamed Amri and the Algerian Adel Haddadi.

Then again on February 22 for a week, the Tunisian Sofien Ayari and the Belgian-Moroccan Mohamed Bakkali having also been infected.

The defendants are "fit to resume the hearing", indicated the president of the court, Jean-Louis Périès, citing the conclusions of medical expertise.

Only one accused did not take his place in the box: the Swede Osama Krayem, who has refused to appear since November.

He had notably written that he would no longer speak to the court, believing that this trial was "an illusion".

Trial schedule until June

The trial, which opened on September 8, was four weeks late, disrupted by interruptions linked to the health situation.

In recent weeks, six of the eleven accused appearing detained have contracted Covid, including Salah Abdeslam.

The end of this river trial, initially scheduled for the end of May, is now expected at the end of June.

The court was to hear Tuesday afternoon a Belgian investigator on the search for caches by the jihadist commando, in August and September 2015. Three other Belgian police officers were to testify this week, by videoconference from Brussels.

The court will then question, from March 10, the defendants on the logistics of the attacks over the period from the end of August 2015 to November 7, 2015. The final preparations for these attacks must be addressed at the end of the month.
