The political consultation, which is being held from March 3 to 6, 2022 in Owando in the north of the country, will take place without the formations of the Federation of the opposition and the Collective of the opposition.

They see it as a diversion and demand consultation to deal with the multidimensional crisis that the country is experiencing.

However, this framework of reflection is supposed to prepare the ground for the legislative and local elections, scheduled in nearly five months.

From our correspondent in Brazzaville,

Received on Tuesday by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Clément Miérassa, leader of the Congolese Opposition Federation, clearly said his refusal: “

 We are not going to Owando.

We submitted to the Minister a file which has a simple orientation

: the need and urgency to hold an inclusive national dialogue in this country;

it is the need to release all political prisoners for us to move forward

 ,” he said during a press conference.

For Jean Itadi, leader of the African Congress for Progress (CAP), consultation with Owando is not a priority.

The Congolese, in this situation of multifaceted and multidimensional crisis, must reconcile and find each other.

But there are Congolese in prison for nothing

,” he said.

Finally Mathias Dzon of the Collective of Opposition Parties sees a diversion through consultation.

For reasons of love for this country, loyalty to this country and reasons of transparency, we have decided not to get involved in the fun that is going to be done in Owando.

Let them do and come and report to us.

We will see how the country will receive

 ,” said Mr. Dzon, former Minister of Finance (1997-2002).

The delegations to take part in this consultation leave Brazzaville this Wednesday by special flights.
