Three dentists and the director of a dental center in Orléans (Loiret) were indicted and placed under judicial control for illegal exercise of the profession of dental surgeon and fraud in an organized gang, the public prosecutor's office said on Friday February 25. Orleans to AFP.

Following a report from the Departmental Order of Dental Surgeons of Loiret, a search was carried out last Tuesday in this office located in the city center of Orléans, indicated the public prosecutor, Emmanuelle Bochenek- Pure.

Unrecognized diplomas

According to a source close to the investigation, the practitioners, all three of foreign origin, are accused of having practiced without having diplomas recognized in France.

They are also suspected of having carried out undue care and billed for fictitious acts.

The investigators of the territorial direction of the judicial police of Orleans "also collected testimonies of patients attesting to bodily harm (…) caused by the performance of certain medical acts", adds the prosecution in a press release.

The Centre-Val-de-Loire regional health agency has suspended “the activity of the center for one month” and will carry out an inspection “before considering (…) its reopening”.
