On Monday, a completely new reception was inaugurated on Drottninggatan in Örebro.

The first patients are expected this week.

- Now we are creating a common entrance for all children and young people with mental illness.

You can call here, get a referral or come here via 1177. The idea is also that we will offer chat conversations with young people, says Eva Eriksson, head of unit First contact mental illness children and young people.

Strengthened in several places

In addition to the new reception in Örebro, primary care in Hallsberg, Karlskoga, Lindesberg and Örebro has been strengthened with, among others, psychologists, counselors, doctors and nurses to better receive children and young people with mild to moderate mental illness.

- We will also collaborate with all 12 municipalities in the county, with student health and social services.

Wants to create equal care in the county and be able to work preventively, says Camilla Eklöv, unit manager Mottagningen mental health children and young people in the Örebro County Region.

- In the long run, we believe that this investment will reduce the burden on specialist psychiatry, says Eva Eriksson.
