“We, the Presidents of the EU Member States of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia, express our deep conviction that Ukraine deserves the immediate prospect of EU membership,” the statement says.
They also recommended high-level political support for Ukraine.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed an application for the country's accession to the European Union.
In turn, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, previously reported that the issue of Ukraine's admission to the EU was not on the agenda.
