The deadline set by the Russian negotiating delegation in the Belarusian city of Gomel for its Ukrainian counterpart to sit at the negotiating table expired at 3:00 Moscow time, according to what Russia Today reported.

The Russian delegation to the negotiations is headed by Vladimir Medinsky, the Russian president's assistant, and includes a group of officials at the level of deputy defense and foreign ministers, as well as the Russian ambassador to Belarus, Boris Gryzlov.

And the Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, had announced earlier that the Kiev authorities in particular had chosen Gomel as the meeting place.

He stated that Russia is waiting for the Ukrainian delegation to conduct negotiations in Gomel, and the Russian delegation is ready for it.

Medinsky noted that the Russian delegation will wait for a response from the Ukrainian side to confirm the negotiations until 15:00 local time, and that deadline was less than an hour at the time of its announcement.
