A few days ago they were in Lutsk in northwestern Ukraine.

Now five women and three children are sitting in a terraced house in Skurup.

- Nobody knows what awaits them.

They do not feel very well and just want to be reunited with their families.

They are happy to be here but they want to return, says Alen Kaljaca.

This weekend, Alen Kaljaca picked up his wife's relatives on a Polish-Ukrainian border.

After a day in a car and by boat, they are now in Alen's townhouse in Skurup.

But the men were not allowed to come along.

- The women and children sat and waited at the border and were then told that men are not allowed to leave Ukraine and a family returned.

Three families were allowed to cross on foot to the Polish side - without the men.

Now they are here, says Alen Kaljaca.

Received a lot of help

Here in Skurup, the women and children are safe but very worried.

But they have also received a lot of support and help.

- A woman from the village came and left things and clothes specifically for these three children.

People have swished in and want to contribute to travel money and breaks, says Alen Kaljaca.

Planning a new trip

Now he is planning a new trip to help refugees to safety in Sweden.

- Several people have wanted to line up with transport.

I have received two buses and then six cars so far with drivers, where they offer to go with me to the border and pick up more people, says Alen Kaljaca.
