When SVT Nyheter Helsingborg visits Tryckhuset in Fredriksdal, 25 young people are glued to the computers.

Now they have to influence their surroundings.

During two days of the sports holiday, 25 young people, aged 13 to 15, had the opportunity to come up with suggestions on how they want to develop Fredriksdal.

- We want to do better both for the elderly and for the younger, says Filippa Birkner.

Simulated digital world by Fredriksdal

It is a workshop between the city of Helsingborg and the UN project "UN Habitat" where young people through a computer program can construct their ideas and solutions on what they see as problems and opportunities in the district.

It is about discovering, for example, dark places in the late evenings and nights, but also the lack of playgrounds and other activities.

- I have played since I was little so it is cool to have such a big impact through a game, says Nora Darlista.

The proposals can become a reality

The workshop is an approach for the city of Helsingborg to include younger people who may otherwise be difficult to reach.

- We work with school holiday internships where young people can be involved and influence to increase security and well-being in Fredriksdal, says Malin Grahn Marksell strategic developer at the labor market administration.

The best proposals will be sent on to the city building administration's architects, who will then sketch further on the proposals and present them to the young people and Helsingborg's residents.

- It might be built for real and it would have been cool, says Filippa Birkner and Nora Darlista at the same time.
