According to the Polish authorities, more than 100,000 Ukrainian refugees crossed the land border due to the start of the war.

In Korczowa, many refugees describe increasingly complicated conditions, between the lack of food and basic necessities.

While the Polish authorities already estimate the number of Ukrainian refugees to have crossed the land border at more than 100,000, those who cross the border at Korczowa, the most important access point on the road from Lviv, the large town in western Ukraine, describe an increasingly complicated situation.

The border is already a few hundred meters behind her, but the little family is still running, dragging bags and suitcases.

The three children remain silent.

The shock is still present in Lena's voice and words.

"It's a great shame for me to leave my birthplace, to flee like a rat," she laments at the microphone of Europe 1.

An even more painful situation for her children, for whom it was "terrible": "We saw the Russian soldiers near our town. They were on foot and we saw them walking", says Léna again.

Lack of basic necessities

On the Ukrainian side, food has become hard to find.

Even in the west near Poland, there is a shortage of basic necessities for the refugees.

So many of them came to help, like Bartek who arrived from Warsaw.

His open car trunk is offered to newcomers, like a small free market.

"There is bread, chocolate, toothpaste and medicine," he explains.

The calm surprises.

No screams, no dramas.

Customs officers and police officers understanding in the face of this vast shambles of leaks, help and waiting.

All convinced that this is only the beginning.
