"We have guarded the ecology for so many years, and now we must gradually make it work, truly transform the green waters and lush mountains into invaluable assets, and finally let the dividends fall into the pockets of every household, so that they can truly eat ecological meals, Bring the ecological bowl." Speaking of the "0000001" carbon ticket story, Zhang Linshun, deputy to the National People's Congress, was full of emotion.

After a rare rain and snow, the green mountains and green waters of Changkou Village, Gaotang Town, Jiangle County, Sanming City, Fujian Province are surrounded by clouds and mists, and the air is fresh; rows of residential houses are neatly lined up, and the pavilions and waterscapes are picturesque.

Zhang Linshun, secretary of the Party Committee of Changkoulian Village in Gaotang Town, recalled in an interview with a reporter from China News Agency recently that just over 20 years ago, Changkou Village was still a well-known "Three No Villages" -- not many new houses, not a single one. There are spacious concrete roads, few street lamps that can be turned on, and the villagers' income is even less.

"Although they have good mountains and rivers, the villagers live a poor and hard life."

Today, the green mountains and clear waters have brought development dividends to Changkou Village.

Changkou Village relies on a good ecological environment to develop special industries such as forestry and navel orange planting, and operates rural tourism projects such as rafting and homestays, so that villagers can have something to do and make money at their doorstep.

With the goal of carbon neutrality and carbon peaking, Changkou Village ushered in new opportunities.

On May 18, 2021, Zhang Linshun received a carbon ticket numbered "0000001" in China, involving 3,197 mu of ecological public welfare forests in Changkou Village. After a third-party assessment and calculation, the carbon emission reduction during the monitoring period was 12,723 tons.

Among them, 2,723 tons of carbon emission reductions were bought by Fujian Tonghai Nickel Technology Co., Ltd. at a price of 40,845 yuan on the same day.

The carbon ticket is based on the increment of forest growth and is converted into carbon emission reduction according to the measurement method. The "real money" of the loan.

Zhang Linshun said that he was very excited when he received the carbon ticket. The air in Changkou Village can be sold for money, which fully shows that green water and green mountains are invaluable assets.

At the daughter's engagement ceremony in 2021, Zhang Linshun even gave his 387 mu of forest forestry carbon ticket as a dowry to his daughter and son-in-law, "I hope they can pass on the baton of protecting green waters and green mountains from generation to generation."

Changkou Village has the reputation of "China's No. 1 Carbon Ticket Village".

But Zhang Linshun admitted frankly that he still has a heavy burden on his shoulders, and there is still a lot to do.

"In the future, Changkou Village will unswervingly draw landscape paintings and landscape essays, so that the ecological dividends will fall into the pockets of every household."

On the road to rural revitalization, Zhang Linshun paid special attention to common prosperity.

He told reporters that with the prosperous Changkou Village as the leader, and five surrounding villages with adjacent geographical locations and similar resource endowments, they were jointly built across villages to keep warm and cooperate with each other.

"In terms of industry, nearly 1,000 mu of navel oranges have been planted, and two poor villages have been brought together, and there is a fixed income from the village wealth every year; in terms of projects, they can jointly declare and grow together."

This year's National People's Congress is approaching, and the talent issue is another concern of Zhang Linshun.

He said that more than 140 college students have gone out of Changkou Village. He used to encourage "going out", but now he wants to "bring them back".

"Bring some talents back to the village, because the development of ecological agriculture, the tourism industry and the competition for double-carbon opportunities all require high-end talents."

"To revitalize the countryside, talents are the key." Zhang Linshun hopes to attract talents back to his hometown through policy formulation and platform construction.
