China News Service, February 26. According to the European Times Network, in just a few days, the situation in Ukraine has changed suddenly.

What happened to the overseas Chinese in Ukraine in the explosion?

Facing the smoke of gunpowder, how do ordinary people in foreign countries feel?

The European Times reporter contacted Changzhi, a Chinese living in eastern Ukraine, and Sun Guang, a Chinese living in Kiev.

"5 kilometers away from the war zone, the air is shaking with the rumbling sound"

A few days ago, Changzhi had heard two or three air raid sirens.

For the next two days, the plane crashed over the roof, and the rumbling sound lingered in my ears from time to time.

"In the roar of the missile launch, the air is trembling, and the sound is particularly scary."

Chang Zhi, from Liaoyang, Liaoning, lived in Russia earlier.

Later, affected by the epidemic, he followed his wife to live in a small town in eastern Ukraine.

Today, the residential building where the Changzhi family is located is only 5 kilometers away from the fire area.

At about 5 pm local time on February 24, Changzhi came to a spring 1 km away from his home to draw water. A shell exploded not far away in an instant, and the heat wave brought by the shock wave forced George to immediately bend over.

At that time, Chang Zhi deeply felt: the danger is really coming.

According to Changzhi's understanding, there is only one overseas Chinese in the area.

Since the 24th, he has received greetings from distant relatives one after another.

Most of the time, Changzhi relies on his connections with friends in China to keep track of what's going on outside.

"I can only watch Russian TV at home, but there is not much content on Russian TV. Sometimes information in China is updated faster than here."

After two or three gunshots, fear haunted the Changzhi family.

"My daughter was very scared. Once the air raid siren sounded, the child had to take his passport, real estate certificate, and carry a bag away." Chang Zhi kept comforting his 15-year-old daughter.

The daughter is worried that her father will also be drafted and sent to the front line.

"I am 55 years old this year, and I am a Chinese citizen. In order to appease her, I will not easily go near the border." Chang Zhi said.

In 2017, Changzhi was unable to see his father before his death.

"I really hope the conflict ends soon and I can go back to China to visit my mother. I just don't know if my mother in her 80s will survive until the day I go back." Chang Zhi's voice was trembling.

"Hundred kilometers of traffic jams on the highway to western Ukraine"

Video screenshot On February 25, Ukraine local time, Sun Guang was in a video connection with a reporter from "European Times".

In the past two days, Sun Guang, who is in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, often sees people evacuating to the western region.

"It feels like a dead city outside. The parking lot was full, and now there are not half of the cars in the parking lot. You can clearly feel that everyone who can walk has left."

Sun Guang, who came to Ukraine for more than 20 years, has been engaged in the auto parts business for a long time.

The situation in Ukraine is turbulent, and its own business is also bleak.

"In addition to some public facilities, such as hospitals, banks, police stations, etc., other similar shopping malls, entertainment centers, and restaurants have stopped. The subway has also become an air-raid shelter, and many students have taken refuge in it."

According to Sun Guang, even though local oil prices have risen, there are still many citizens lining up to refuel.

"Oil prices have risen by about 10%. I can see long queues of cars on my way to the supermarket." Many Kiev citizens fled to western Ukraine overnight.

"On the highway from Kiev to the west, the traffic jam is 100 kilometers, from one city to another." Sun Guang said.

In the early morning of the 24th, Sun Guang heard explosions and gunshots around him.

"In the beginning, I just heard a very strange thumping sound, and I didn't take it seriously." Only one day later, Sun Guang witnessed the high-rise buildings bombed by missiles with his own eyes.

"A high-rise building with about 10 floors was blown up by a missile, and half of the building was abolished. The missile penetrated the balconies of several floors, and the impact caused all the houses to rot. The crater left behind was five or six meters in diameter. It's a meter deep."

Sun Guang said: "Right now, I'm praying not to fight in the city. If street fighting does happen, it will be miserable and the city will be finished."

Some local Chinese have spontaneously set up a "mutual aid group".

Sun Guang said with emotion that at this difficult time, everyone needs to unite together.
