Ukraine, where deadly fighting opposes Russian and Ukrainian forces to the gates of Kiev, announced the general mobilization to try to curb the massive offensive launched by Vladimir Putin, and explosions sounded Friday at dawn in the capital city.

According to the findings of an AFP journalist, two loud explosions were heard in the center of Kiev, the day after the start of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

"Missile fire" targeted the Ukrainian capital

On its Facebook account, the Ukrainian army indicated that "missile fire" was aimed at Kiev, specifying that it had destroyed two in flight.

According to the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, three people were injured, one of them seriously, by debris from missiles that fell in a residential area in the southeast of the Ukrainian capital.

The progression of Russian forces raises fears of an assault and the multiplication of targeted attacks on Kiev and strategic and government targets.

Horrific Russian rocket strikes on Kyiv.

Last time our capital experienced anything like this was in 1941 when it was attacked by Nazi Germany.

Ukraine defeated that evil and will defeat this one.

Stop Damn.

Isolate Russia.

Severe all ties.

Kick Russia out of everywhere.

Another missile fire against a border guard unit

According to Western military sources, the Russian army was closing in on Kiev, where a curfew was imposed, with the intention of "beheading the government" of Ukraine and installing a pro-Moscow government there instead.

Ukraine's Defense Ministry also reported on Friday an early morning Russian missile strike against a border guard unit in the Zaporizhia region, which the source said caused "deaths and injuries".
