Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday invited Europeans with combat experience to travel to Ukraine to fight the Russian army.
He also criticized European leaders for responding too “slowly” to the invasion of Moscow.
“If you have combat experience and you no longer want to watch the indecision of your politicians, you can come to our country to defend Europe,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The capital Kiev, epicenter of the fighting
These statements come as Ukrainian forces are trying to repel a Russian offensive launched on Thursday.
On Friday, fighting took place in and around Kiev, the capital.
The European Union and the United States announced new sanctions against Moscow on Thursday, without however taking the measures deemed the harshest such as an exclusion from the Swift interbank messaging system.
“How are you going to defend yourselves if you are so slow to help Ukraine?
», launched Volodymyr Zelensky to the address of the Europeans.
“Cancel visas for Russians?
SWIFT (interbank network) disconnection?
Total isolation from Russia?
Recall of ambassadors?
Oil embargo?
Today everything must be on the table, because it is a threat for all of us, all of Europe,” he added.
“Europe is strong enough to stop this aggression,” he insisted.
