“The Committee of Ministers today decided to immediately suspend the rights of the Russian Federation in the committee and in the Parliamentary Assembly in connection with the armed invasion of Ukraine,” TASS quotes a statement.
The press service of the committee added that Russia remains a member of the Council of Europe and a party to the relevant conventions of the organization.
Earlier, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said that the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe had expelled Russia from the organization.
