For many years, prices on the Frankfurt housing market have only known one direction: they are rising and rising.

The purchase prices for condominiums have doubled in the last ten years, and rents are also increasing.

How long will this go on?

Is there no end to the price spiral in sight?

How can politics influence this development?

Or is it already intervening far too much in the housing market?

The next FAZ Citizens' Talks, which will take place on March 3rd at 7:30 p.m., will be dedicated to these questions.

Hesse's housing minister Tarek Al-Wazir (Die Grünen) and Frankfurt's head of planning Mike Josef (SPD) discuss the situation on the housing market in the city and in Frankfurt with Conny Petzold, office manager of the tenants help tenants association, and Ralf Werner, managing director of the housing construction company Instone metropolitan area and housing policy in the Rhine-Main area.

Because it was not foreseeable when planning the event whether the corona pandemic would also allow spectators in the hall, the discussion will be broadcast digitally.

Questions to the experts can be asked in the chat.

FAZ subscribers can register for the event until March 2nd at meinabo.faz.net/aktionen.

We are making a special offer for our F+ digital package to all other interested parties who have not previously subscribed: the first 60 days you can read everything on FAZ.NET free of charge and you can of course take part in the citizens' discussion.
