Already a few months after the fall of the Soviet Union, Allan Ekstedt, mission secretary at the Pentecostal church in Eskilstuna, was on site in Lviv together with a small delegation from Eskilstuna and began cooperation between the congregations.

Since then, he has been there several times, most recently in September.

- In the autumn, this was far away and then no one could have imagined a Russian invasion.

But when he spoke to Volodymyr Hyrnyak in Lviv on Thursday, the tone was different and the invasion a reality.

- Now we will try to raise money to be able to help the local Pentecostal movement, says Allan Ekstedt.

Located near Poland

Although the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with other countries, has now completely left Ukraine, several had relocated their embassy staff to Lviv in the days before the invasion.

This is due to the city's western location near the Polish border.

Pastor Volodymyr Hyrnyak also expects that several Ukrainians will flee there in the next few days.
