Tuesday, February 22, a woman narrowly escaped drowning, thanks to two providential rescuers, reports

This 49-year-old woman, who had been drinking alcohol, tried to end her life by throwing herself into the Saône, around 3:30 p.m., from the stairs of the Quai de Bondy (Lyon 5).

Two men crossing the Saint-Vincent footbridge then saw the unfortunate woman in the water, and did not hesitate to dive into the river at 8°C to rescue her.

They managed to get her out of the water and bring her back to the shore where she was taken care of by the firefighters.

Suffering from hypothermia, she was transported to the Edouard-Herriot hospital.

His two rescuers, aged 24 and 28, were also transported to the Croix-Rousse hospital for examinations.
