The government is holding a ministerial meeting of the NSC = National Security Council at the Prime Minister's Office from around 8 am with the attendance of Prime Minister Kishida, Foreign Minister Hayashi and Defense Minister Kishida.
The meeting appears to be summarizing additional sanctions, including asset freezes for Russian individuals and groups and export restrictions on semiconductors, following the Russian military invasion of Ukraine.
Then, Prime Minister Kishida is expected to hold a press conference from 8:20 am to announce additional sanctions.
