In his opinion, the tendency to increase sanctions for traffic violations is "objectively justified and aimed at protecting the interests, life and health of citizens."

The deputy also said that differentiated fines would be able to “reason the reckless drivers” on large SUVs, confident in their invulnerability.

The interlocutor of RT explained that an example of such a system could be the Russian legislation on taxes and fees, which provides that for citizens whose annual earnings are more than 5 million rubles, the amount of personal income tax (PIT) is not 13%, but 15 %.

“In connection with the foregoing, I ask you, dear Mikhail Yuryevich, to express the position of the Main Directorate for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation regarding the possibility of introducing gradation and differentiation of the amount of fines for violation of traffic rules, depending on the size, equipment and cost of the car,” — stated in the text of the appeal.

Earlier, Krupnik suggested supplementing the Gosuslugi portal with a special section for complaints from citizens about telephone scammers.
