Train toilet shortages on the Stockholm-Duved route cost SJ hundreds of thousands of kronor

According to the current agreement between the Swedish Transport Administration and SJ, SJ must meet a number of conditions regarding night train traffic between Stockholm and Duved.

Several of these conditions have been violated during the fourth quarter of 2021, the Swedish Transport Administration states.

Among other things, this means that toilets or showers in 44 rooms have been out of order, and that the temperature or ventilation has not worked in 8 rooms.

This only gives it a fine of SEK 220,000.

Fine for missed hold times

In addition, SJ has also been guilty of lack of punctuality and canceled train traffic, the Swedish Transport Administration states.

All shortcomings result in a total contract penalty of SEK 268,500.
