According to the consulate general, two Chinese citizens were among the residents of the apartment on fire, and they were evacuated to the resettlement hotel in time.

  In the early morning of the 21st local time, a residential area in the Westviertel of Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, caught fire.

So far, the fire has been completely extinguished, a total of 3 people were injured and no one died.

According to German media reports, 39 apartments were completely destroyed in the fire, and about 100 people were evacuated.

Three residents were hospitalized for smoke inhalation and can be discharged now.

  German media sources pointed out that the fire may have started on a balcony, and strong winds and insulation materials were the reasons for the rapid spread of the fire.

The investigation into the exact cause of the fire is still ongoing.
