In the afternoon, the police were contacted regarding a woman who had become ill and another who must have suffered a cold injury in connection with a stay in the Abisko Mountains.

- They were in the mountains for a ski trip and were in a larger party that could sound the alarm, says Maria Linné, press spokesperson at the police.

One was taken to hospital

The police officer on duty decided to start a rescue service and mountain rescuers were called out.

At 17:40, the mountain rescuers announced that they had found the people in question and an ambulance could meet at the nearest passable road.

- One of the women needed to be taken to medical care by ambulance, says Maria Linné.
