  Earlier on the 22nd, Ukraine's permanent representative to the United Nations, Sergei Kislitsa, said that Ukraine condemned Russia's decision to recognize the "Donetsk People's Republic" and "Luhansk People's Republic" and asked Russia to cancel the recognition.   Kislitsa said Ukraine is committed to resolving the problem through political and diplomatic solutions, and called on the United Nations to help restore peace and security in Ukraine.

  Regarding whether Kiev will cut diplomatic relations with Moscow, Kislitsa said that the Ukrainian government will make a rational decision.
