In response to an intervention that called for the necessity of amending the Social Security Law issued in 1977, as it is “not commensurate with the current conditions,” the minister stressed that the law keeps pace with social and economic changes, pointing out that this was reflected in the value of social assistance since the law was implemented.
She said that the current law has expanded the classification of cases eligible for support to include 21 categories.
She explained that "the law supports the cases that all women go through, without making them vulnerable or detracting from them," explaining that the ministry is considering reviewing legislation in general according to studies that keep pace with the state's direction to provide a high quality of life for all members of society.
She added that the criterion in the Social Security Law lies in the fact that those who fall within the scope of social assistance are groups that have no income or have low incomes.
In response to an intervention regarding the absence of studies of cases benefiting from social security in accordance with governance standards that require studying the case from all its economic and social aspects, and the ministry’s contentment with studying the case according to its classification as a category without looking at other conditions, such as housing, health and others, the minister confirmed that the ministry applies governance standards when studying The cases, the case is studied, and a special file is prepared for each request, which includes all the information in all respects.
Accordingly, reports are prepared to decide on these requests, pointing out that questionnaires are prepared to study many groups to closely identify their needs, and transfer them to the concerned authorities to provide them at the citizen’s home in cooperation with local and federal authorities.
An intervention called for disbursing assistance to sons until the completion of education and girls until their marriage, and to provide jobs for those who did not obtain job opportunities.
