The British Foreign Office announced its intention to impose sanctions against State Duma deputies and senators of the Federation Council

“The UK will also impose sanctions on those members of the Russian State Duma and Federation Council who voted to recognize the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk,” the statement said.

Earlier, deputies of the State Duma voted for an amendment on the entry into force of friendship treaties with the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics.

On February 21, Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed decrees on Russia's recognition of the independence of the DNR and LNR.
