The burglar who broke into a house in Coulommiers (Seine-et-Marne), on the night of Friday to Saturday, attacked one of the occupants of the premises, 86 years old.

The latter was awakened around 3 a.m. by the intruder and decided to go and confront him directly, says

The fleeing thief

He hit the thief with a chair and was then punched.

The octogenarian received a total incapacity for work (ITT) of twenty days.

He was hospitalized, in particular for the treatment of a major nose wound.

Before fleeing, the perpetrator of the violence seized the necklace worn by the second occupant of the house, wife of the first and aged 80.

She was not, however, hit.

An investigation is underway.

The total value of the jewelry and objects taken by the burglar was assessed at €1,300 by the police.

The couple filed a complaint on Sunday.
