A shooting at a park in Portland, Oregon, has left one person dead and five injured, possibly after a gun-toting homeowner clashed with a group of demonstrators protesting police brutality.
A group of demonstrators were gathering in Normandale Park to protest police brutality in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when the shooting took place.
As the demonstrators were about to start their march, a man who lived nearby confronted them and then opened fire on the crowd.
At least one protester returned fire.
The fighter himself was shot and seriously injured.
The injured have been taken to hospital for treatment.
Police spokesman Nathan Sheppard said investigators believe a number of people witnessed or filmed the shooting with their cellphones, but no one cooperated with police.
