“In light of recent events, we strongly urge our citizens to leave the eastern regions of Ukraine,” the message says.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry also urged citizens to "contact the country's embassy in Kiev when necessary."
Earlier, the US State Department called on American citizens to immediately leave the territory of Ukraine on commercial and private flights due to a possible escalation of the situation.
The State Department also urged non-critical American diplomats to leave Ukraine.
The department also said that the US Embassy in Ukraine will be temporarily transferred from Kiev to Lviv.
