The French president called for "an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council", denouncing "a unilateral violation of Russia's international commitments and an attack on the sovereignty of Ukraine", specified the presidency in a communicated.
In the evening, Emmanuel Macron spoke at the same time with US President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, according to the Elysée.
