Justice continues its work to fight against the sleep merchants in Marseille.

This Monday, a 43-year-old former notary was sentenced to one year in prison for renting unsanitary accommodation in a building in the 15th arrondissement, reports

La Provence

.

The court accepted in this case of poor housing the qualification of endangering the life of others, while the owner never started the necessary work.

The latter was also sentenced to a fine of 30,000 euros, a ban on buying real estate for 10 years and the confiscation of the building.

The company to which the property was linked was fined 100,000 euros and the victims will receive 25,000 euros each for the damage suffered.

The notary should however see his sentence adjusted by house arrest, under an electronic bracelet.
