Listen to the clip to hear Marita talk about how the Swedish Forest Agency's message affects her.

The debate about the forest has flared up properly with the Swedish Forest Agency's announcement that forest owners must now take even greater account of protected species than before.

The Swedish Farmers' Association writes on its website that they want the government to clarify the investigative responsibility that is now being transferred to individual forest owners.

LRF believes that this decision may break forest owners.

SVT Nyheter Väst has met Marita Pahlén (MP) who owns a forest outside Tranemo.

She is positive to this message but at the same time emphasizes that all forest owners will need help to adapt to the new decision.

- We will need help and guidance, says Marita Pahlén.

A new arrangement in the forest

The Swedish Forest Agency wants, among other things, that forest owners now need to take into account all bird species.

There are some consequences of guiding judgments both nationally and in the EU.

- Without exaggerating, one could describe this as a new order in the forest.

It is of course a big change for forest owners, we understand that, but the legal development is clear in that part and both forest owners and we as an authority now need to gradually adapt to it, says Göran Rune, head of the Swedish Forest Agency's forest department in the press release.
