During the program, the Moderates, Liberals, Christian Democrats, Center Party and Sweden Democrats emphasized order and order in school, freedom for parents to choose a school place for their children and a knowledge- and fact-focused teaching as their most important school issues.

- I hope that we will be able to agree that we do what is required for Swedish schools to be characterized by order and security, says Christian Carlsson (KD).

"Has reached the end of the road"

The Left Party, the Social Democrats and the Green Party mostly focused on the problems with profits in the school world.

Daniel Riazat (V) proposed a referendum on for-profit independent schools, but without the support of the other parties.

- We know that in other countries control has been taken over from the market, he says.

Minister of Education Lina Axelsson Kihlblom (S) reminded that there will soon be an election and that voters will then have a say in the matter.

- We Social Democrats have patched and fixed a free school system in a free market, and now it has reached the end of the road, she says.

M: Quality is most important

The Christian Democrats want to keep the for-profit independent schools, but want to be able to close those that do not measure up.

- We think that knowledge and quality are more important than the opportunity to distribute profits, says Christian Carlsson (KD), the party's school policy spokesperson.

He was supported by Lars Hjälmered (M) who also wants to see increased control of independent schools to prevent grade inflation.

He stressed that the party wants to see a diversity of actors in the school world.

- The important thing is to maintain high quality, says Lars Hjälmered (M), education policy spokesperson.
