“The confrontation of concepts about how to fight the pandemic that arose last year has grown into a conflict about the very essence of the international world order,” TASS quoted Borrell as saying.

He added that one of the most important elements of this battle was the joint statement of Russia and China on February 4th.

“This is the culmination of a long-term campaign, an act of rejection and a revisionist manifesto to redefine the world order,” Borrell said.

According to him, the main goal of Moscow and Beijing is to "revise democracy."

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said that the meeting of Russian and Chinese leaders Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping in Beijing on February 4 was warm, constructive and allied.

During the summit of the leaders of Russia and China, 16 documents were signed.
