In the clip, Jörgen Lundblad, operations manager for Gas in Örebro municipality, explains why the new plant is needed and how the biogas can be used in the future.

It is in Bettorp in Örebro that the new facility will be built and it is expected to be completed in a year.

- This plant will stand by all the time and as soon as the pressure goes down, it will push up the pressure on the gas network again, says Jörgen Lundblad, operations manager Gas in Örebro municipality.

Believe in new customers

The investment is the largest that the municipality has made on biogas in many years, at the same time the entire biogas industry in Sweden sees that cars and buses leave the biogas in favor of electric power.

But the area of use for the locally produced gas is larger than that and with increased energy prices, the gas can even assert itself economically, Jörgen Lundblad believes:

- An area that is growing is industries.

Biogas does not work everywhere, but for the type of business that needs a quickly adjustable energy or open flame, biogas is very good.

You can, for example, replace LPG and oil burning with biogas.

When the pressure control system is in operation, it is also possible to start expanding the network.

- We want to expand the pipeline network to those customers who want to take the gas.

We also want to continue to open up the network so that more producers can connect.

A bit like imagining an electricity grid;

we stand for the network and so producers and users can connect.
