Microsoft founder Bill Gates has warned that there is "almost certainty" that there will be another pandemic following COVID-19.

CNBC reported that Bill Gates made a prediction at a security conference in Munich, Germany on the 18th (local time) that 'a new pandemic is likely to originate from a pathogen different from the coronavirus family'.

Bill Gates diagnosed that the worst adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have subsided as more than two years have passed.

He evaluated that a significant number of people around the world have acquired a certain level of immunity, and that the severity of COVID-19 has greatly weakened due to the o-micron mutation.

Bill Gates points out that in many parts of the globe, these changes are driven by immunity from viral infections rather than vaccine-induced immunity.

He said the World Health Organization's (WHO) goal of vaccinating 70% of the world's population by mid-year was already too late, and he called for the world to move faster in developing and distributing a vaccine in the future.

To this end, he emphasized that governments should invest now.
