Less traffic across the border has meant that we have made fewer seizures, but smuggling is not stopped because the border crossings are physically closed, says Roger Nilsson, group manager for the Swedish Customs' external control group in Hån.

Closed borders have meant that you have to search more in other places, such as forest roads and paths, he says.

- When we have received tips about people who move in such places that do not usually do so, we understand that it is through these roads that the smuggling traffic goes, says Roger Nilsson.
