China News Agency, Beijing, February 18 (Xinhua) Comprehensive news: A special court in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India sentenced 38 people to death and 11 to life imprisonment for their involvement in a series of bombings in 2008.

  According to the Asia News Agency of India, on July 26, 2008, a series of explosions occurred in different areas of Ahmedabad in just 70 minutes, resulting in the death of 56 people and injuries to more than 200 people.

At that time, a terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the above-mentioned incident.

  New Delhi TV reported that terrorists from the "Indian Mujahideen" (IM) planned the bombing.

This is revenge for the 2002 Gujarat riots.

  On February 8, a Gujarat court ruled against the 2008 Ahmedabad bombings, finding 49 defendants guilty and 28 not guilty.

On February 18, the relevant court sentenced 38 of the 49 defendants to death.

  "India Today" reported that the 38 defendants involved in the case were sentenced to hanging.

It is the first time in Indian history that so many defendants have been sentenced to death at the same time in a single case.

In addition, 11 defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment.
