Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Goto has revealed that it is expected to secure more than 1 million doses per day for the new corona antigen test kit, which has a problem of supply shortage.

As the demand for testing increases due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the shortage of supply of antigen test kits that can be tested at home has become an issue, so the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has asked manufacturers to increase production up to 800,000 times a day for the time being. We have continued to make efforts such as requesting imports.

Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Goto said at a press conference on the 18th, "As a result of our utmost efforts, we are expected to secure more than 1 million productions and imports per day."

"The supply and demand situation is expected to improve considerably from this week onwards," he said.

He also explained that a new mechanism was established to connect medical institutions wishing to purchase test kits with wholesalers of pharmaceutical products, and to start accepting applications from medical institutions from the 18th.

"We will continue to work closely with healthcare professionals, local governments, manufacturers and drug wholesalers to meet our testing needs," he said.
