To go see Mickey and his friends, the mask remains only compulsory indoors for unvaccinated people and for all visitors, regardless of vaccination status, in particularly cramped or sensitive places such as transport shuttles or infirmaries.

Before the pandemic, Disney World in Orlando (Florida) was the world's largest leisure park in terms of attendance, followed by Disneyland in Anaheim, south of Los Angeles.

The health instructions, in particular concerning the wearing of a mask, are different in the two states, California having adopted a much stricter strategy.

But the state of California softened its position this week due to the very sharp decline in the number of contaminations, which allowed the Disney parks of Anaheim to align.

The Disney parks in the United States had closed their doors in March 2020 in the face of the runaway pandemic.

If Disney World had started to resume its activities in July 2020, Disneyland had waited until May 2021, after 415 days of closure.

At the time, access was restricted to residents of California and wearing a mask was mandatory in all circumstances.

Wearing a mask in enclosed places remained compulsory on Thursday at Universal Studios Hollywood, Disneyland's main competitor.

The park is indeed located in Los Angeles County, where health authorities maintain stricter rules than those enacted at the state level, as they are entitled to.
