Umeå municipality is fully clearing snow at the same time as they have started the spring cleaning of the streets - which means that they tear up hard-packed snow from the roads to prepare for the snowmelt later this spring.
This means that the plow embankments on smaller streets grow and can cause visibility problems for car drivers.
- We try to remove the plow dikes where there are major visibility problems.
We must prioritize the roads with the most traffic and the most unprotected road users.
But the last two weeks in February will be the most difficult with the view, says Per Hilmersson, street operations manager Umeå municipality.
