Three Palestinian youths were injured, one of them seriously, in clashes with the Israeli occupation forces, early Thursday, in the Kharrouba suburb (north of Jenin).

Walid al-Omari, director of the Al-Jazeera office in Ramallah, said that Israeli military forces stormed the Kharrouba suburb (north of Jenin) at dawn, and that about 20 military vehicles reinforced with snipers and commandos, whose soldiers disguised themselves in civilian clothes, "stormed homes for Palestinians."

Al-Omari added that the soldiers occupied the roofs of a number of houses, then arrested two young men before they withdrew, stressing that confrontations erupted between the villagers and the occupation forces, including armed clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Israeli army arrested a boy and suffocated dozens of Palestinians in the south of the occupied West Bank.

Eyewitnesses said that clashes erupted between Palestinians and the Israeli army at the northern entrance to the city of Bethlehem.

They added that the forces used metal bullets and tear gas canisters to disperse the Palestinians, and dozens of them suffocated as a result of inhaling tear gas, and were treated in the field.

The official Palestinian News Agency quoted Palestinian security sources as saying that the Israeli occupation had arrested Waseem Jihad Abu Drai', 15, from the city of Bethlehem during the confrontations.

And earlier on Wednesday, dozens of Palestinians were also injured as a result of the Israeli army's use of tear gas canisters, in clashes in the town of Burqa in the Nablus governorate (in the northern West Bank), according to eyewitnesses and medical sources.

Since the beginning of the year, Al-Quds, occupied Jerusalem, and various areas of the West Bank have witnessed a state of tension due to the repeated attacks by the occupying forces and extremist settlers on Palestinian cities and villages.

About 650,000 Israelis currently live in more than 130 settlements built since 1967, when Israel occupied the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
