Airbus can look forward

after suffering the full brunt of the pandemic

.

Supporting figures, the company makes a profit of 4.2 billion euros in 2021, unheard of in its history, and the return of the payment of a dividend of 1.5 euros per share after having removed for two years.

These figures are the result of deliveries which went well last year, of the good performance of the group in its space and defense activities, but inevitably, also, of the reduction of costs.

From the start of the health crisis, Airbus had announced 15,000 job cuts without layoffs – which were eventually revised to nearly 10,000.

A return to normal market conditions between 2023 and 2025

But proof that the European aircraft manufacturer is turning the page on Covid-19, after delivering 611 commercial aircraft last year, the company hopes to deliver 720 in 2022 and with that,

recruit at least 6,000 people.

However, the CEO of Airbus remains cautious and specifies that these prospects are based on the absence of new disruptions in the global economy and air traffic in particular.

According to him, the market is expected to fully recover between 2023 and 2025.
