A woman killed by several stab wounds in the middle of the street, in Marmande

On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, a young woman was stabbed to death in the city center of Marmande, in Lot-et-Garonne.

The young woman received "several stab wounds" and the criminal track is favored by the investigators, the Agen prosecutor's office told an AFP correspondent, without further details.

The firefighters, alerted around 1 a.m., could only note the death of the 31-year-old victim during their intervention.

According to witnesses mentioned by the daily Sud-Ouest, an altercation was heard shortly after midnight, near the victim's home.
