China News Service, February 16. Recently, Japanese figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu accepted an exclusive interview with the Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK), recalling that he injured his ankle in practice the day before the free skating competition, but still insisted on challenging the four-week and half-jump.

He also expressed his hope that through his performances, he would bring something to those who suffered from the Great East Japan Earthquake and are experiencing a new life.

On February 10, Japanese figure skating star Yuzuru Hanyu failed to challenge Axel's quadruple jump (4A) at the Beijing Winter Olympics. He fell to the ground while doing the jump.

4A is the only quadruple jump among the 6 basic jumping movements of figure skating known so far, and it is the only one that has not been conquered by any competitor in the competition.

In the figure skating men's singles free skating at the Beijing Winter Olympics on the 10th, Yuzuru Hanyu challenged the ultra-difficult Axel quadruple jump (that is, the quadruple half-jump) without success.

According to the Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK), Yuzuru Hanyu said: "After the injury, the people around me gave me a lot of support and encouragement. I myself was able to focus on the game and challenge the semi-jump all around with unprecedented courage. That It was a moment that reflected everyone’s support and encouragement.”

But even if it wasn't something specific, I wanted to bring something to everyone through my performance, through the one-and-a-half quad jump."
