As tensions continued over the situation in Ukraine, National Security Adviser Akiba confirmed that he would work closely with the US National Security Adviser, while continuing to share information between Japan and the United States in a telephone conversation with US National Security Adviser Sullivan.

National Security Adviser Akiba had a telephone conversation with US National Security Adviser Sullivan on the night of the 17th at the White House in the United States.



In this, they confirmed that they would closely watch the situation in Ukraine, where tensions continue, with great concern, and continue to share information between Japan and the United States.



On that basis, they agreed that it is important for the international community, including the G7 = seven major countries, to cooperate and respond.



In addition, Sullivan's aide thanked the Government of Japan for deciding to lend some of its LNG = liquefied natural gas to Europe.
