“Lavrov said that the answer will come within a couple of days,” Price said at a briefing.

He also expressed hope that Russia intends to engage in dialogue and diplomacy for a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.

“We are waiting for it, we will read it very carefully, we hope to see constructive feedback in it,” Price said.

As the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted earlier, the West presented the security initiatives previously put forward by Russia as their own.

Lavrov, commenting on Washington's response to Moscow's proposals on security guarantees, noted that the first part of the West's response is unsatisfactory, while the second is constructive.

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that Russia had not received a substantive response from the United States regarding strategic security guarantees.
