A little girl barely 3 years old was taken care of by the police in Rouen (Seine-Maritime) on Tuesday.

The police questioned the neighborhood, to no avail.

No trace of the girl's family during the door-to-door in the area.

“The little one, who was not in stress, was finally brought back safely to the premises of the police station”, relates the regional daily.

The anguish ended when the panicked mother called 17, the emergency police number, “about two hours later”,

The girl, “tall for her age”, had managed – while her mother was cleaning another room in the house, the latter said – to grab the doorknob, get out of her house and borrow the way to school, alone.

The “runaway” little one was near a playground when she was spotted during her getaway.
